![]() ![]() The big twist of it all was that every other chapter was taking place in the main character's head. Chapter 4: I don't think I've felt so let down by a game's narrative conclusion before. However, it does end after a short while, which leads me to. During this portion your entire gameplay style changes into a 3D linear traversal game and it does not mesh well at all with the game's style. Unfortunately, the chapter doesn't end when it should have and goes on like 15-20 minutes longer than it should have. This chapter also seems to follow the events of the second in an interesting way, which got me very excited to see how the game was going to conclude itself. The voice acting is also at its best here, with the different radio towers serving as your only reprieve from the cold ambient silence. Aside from that, the way in which tension was built up the entire time up until the end was excellently done. Otherwise good luck being able to get any decoding done. It's definitely an issue with my computer, but the level of clarity you need to have to be able to read some of the documents here has to be borderline crystal-clear. Chapter 3: By far the most complex chapter of the lot. Major epilepsy warning though Jesus Christ. The story here is far more interesting and there's even one of those "oh shit" moments when you realize what actually just occurred. The interface is a lot more simpler this time around, as there can be no mistaking what the game's asking you to do as long as you pay attention and read. There's an actually environment to explore now, not just text on a in-game computer. Chapter 2: Immediately, the entire setting, display, and vibe is completely different. Plus it gave waaay too much away in terms of the overarching story, but I'll get to that. ![]() ![]() I understand its purpose in the long-run and the medium in which it was presented was unique, but this type of repetitious psychological-deterioration has been done to death and this didn't bring anything new to the table. (SPOILER WARNING) Chapter 1: While it gave a neat insight into how the game plays with U.I., I found this part of the story to be far too tropey and cliché for its own good. 40% PCI think I'll do this on a chapter-by-chapter basis. ![]()
